passion never clocks off.
Went to a small sports complex the other week.
You know the type of place, couple of tennis courts, a football court and the sudden appearance of this bizarre 'on trend' Padel court?...Very strange game if you ask me.
...Anyway...
The place had decent facilities.
A decent location...
& a staff member behind the desk who looked like they'd rather be anywhere else.
Slow "hello" - zero effort to make anyone feel welcome.
That energy spreads.
You can have the best equipment, perfect pitches and spotless changing rooms - but if the people running the place don't care, customers won't either.
You see your business is a mirror.
Whatever energy you put in is exactly what your customers reflect back.
Bring passion, they'll respond with loyalty.
Bring Boredom?... well... they'll respond by going elsewhere.
I've met waaaaay too many business owners where my drive to make them win is bigger than theirs.
That's insane.
If you care less about your own business than your marketing guy does, you've already lost.
I don't care if you sell concrete - nobody's expecting you to be in love with concrete - but you damn well better be obsessed with building something successful.
If you're not, shut the doors and let someone hungrier take over.
It's.
Called.
Passion.
If you're a business owner it's a necessity.
Surely your original intention when you set-up wasn't to need multiple days off a week!
That's unbecoming.
